The CD Box DS3 launches the completely new DS3 series. It's perfect for those who already own DS2 devices, as the housing is the same. This new CD Box DS3 consolidates the most attractive features of its predecessors, and also contains the Texas Instruments PCM1796 DAC for optimal CD playback. You can operate the CD player with the simple buttons in front or with the included remote, and the high contrast dot-matrix display will give you all the info you need to enjoy your favourite CDs.
The Red Book standard specifies the physical parameters and properties of Digital Audio Compact Discs (CDDA). Pure CD players are, in contrast to DVD or Blu-ray Disc players, frequently better in playback of stereo CDs. The drive is specifically optimized for 1:1 playback of the Red Book CDDA standard.
A CD drive is only as good as the servo which controls it. The Blue Tiger CD-80 servo developed by Stream Unlimited is the most advanced on the market.
The renowned PCM1796 is employed in the CD Box DS3, having been used in many respected CD players and designs prior. It produces a smooth, warm analog sound that is easy on the ears. The CD Box DS3 also features a RCA output for connection to a pre-amp or integrated amplifier, as well as two digital outputs for further digital signal processing through a DAC.
The intelligent 4-point suspension is able to provide a perfect resonance derivative. Three soft points isolate the drive from external vibration and one hard point leads high frequent vibration caused by the fast movement of the laser into the chassis.
Standard sheet metal cases are insufficiently durable and precise enough to precisely mount a delicate CD drive wherein the laser has to be constantly correct. The aluminum chassis offers the best foundation for a CD drive, shielding it from vibration and electromagnetic disturbances.
