Powerful Asymmetrical Magnetic Circuits
In order to allow the 3.5" woofer to act efficiently and to allow the SP3 to deliver its full potential, FiiO engineers have developed a system of external and internal asymmetrical magnetic circuits. An auxiliary magnet was added to the centre of the SP3 to improve the strength of the magnetic field and reach a 1.2T magnetic flux. It is thanks to this important driving power that the SP3 manages to provide such a dynamic sound. Moreover, this particular structure allows a certain reduction of the non-linear distortion on the whole frequency band.
Silk Tweeter for Unparalleled Treble Resolution
In an active desktop speaker, the tweeter usually plays a crucial role in reproducing fine sound details, which is why FiiO’s SP3, unlike many other active models, uses a 1" tweeter capable of reproducing frequencies up to 35kHz. The copper-plated aluminium KSV voice coil allows for accurate and clean reproduction of high frequencies, even when listening off-axis. This allows the SP3 desktop speaker to offer exceptional treble reproduction and natural timbre.
Tweeter with wave absorption structure
The tweeter of the SP3 also uses silk as a design material to absorb unwanted sound waves behind the driver, further improving the sound qualities of the driver. In addition, a large cavity behind the tweeter's magnet allows the tweeter to reproduce frequencies down to 800Hz. Moreover, when the tweeter delivers frequencies higher than 20kHz, this cavity and the general design of this loudspeaker allow the release of unwanted sound waves and reduce the resonances generated by the movement of the tweeter. The result is a nice extension of the highs and a smooth and accurate reproduction of them.
Directional Acoustic Waveguides
The SP3's tweeter is precisely angled for lossless transmission of sound waves, while the horizontal striped pattern diffuses sound effectively throughout the room. This design enhances the perceived soundstage, making you feel like you're in a grand concert hall.
Double-diffused S-shaped Porting Tube
The innovative double-diffused S-shaped porting tube enhances bass extension and control, resulting in fast bass transients and superior bass quality. This design allows the SP3 to remain compact, maximizes airflow and reduces turbulence to reproduce deep, punchy bass.
Exclusive stand with 7-degree elevation
The FiiO SP3 speakers are delivered with 7° inclined stands. These allow for optimal proximity listening, e.g. when placed on a desk. Furthermore, these stands are made of silicone and also act as vibration absorbers.
LED lighting effect
The SP3 features LED lights at the bottom of its cabinet. When you turn on the SP3, light will immediately bathe the bottom of the unit, instantly creating a new desktop atmosphere. When being used the SP3 will automatically switch to a pulsing light mode, changing between 24 different colours. (This can be turned off or adjusted via a button on the main speaker)
